About us - Blackwood RFC

Today, Blackwood RFC plays in the Welsh Rugby Union, Division One East League. We won the 2008-2009 title with a win against Bargoed at Glan-Yr-Afon Park on 11 April 2009.

In 1998 Blackwood RFC purchased approximately one and a half acres of land adjacent to its playing field at Glan-Yr-Afon from British Gas. This purchase also included an on site disused gas service centre. This property was purchased with the full support of the WRU. Our club became a Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC) in early 2006 and has constantly striven to provide a thriving community service for all age groups through our promotion of the sport.

We are currently planning to take advantage of the Corporate Gift Aid Scheme in 2014, which is open to all CASCs. To this end, we are working closely with the Assoc. of Community Amateur Sports Clubs supported by Caerphilly Council.
